Description
Originally designed for Derby Cup Coffee, the Derby Cup stool is inspired by the rustic construction of barn furniture, yet subverted with a streamlined design and fine finishing.
The stool is handmade of a wood base entirely clad in copper with a verdigris finish. Due to the handmade nature, the finish will have variations from piece to piece. Each stool is marked with an engraved plaque on the underside of the support beam, indicating the design and edition number.
Design by Jack McCready, in collaboration with Shanti Design.

Care
To preserve the rich character of the aged copper base, gently dust with a soft cloth and clean with mild soap and water when needed, always drying immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal polishes, and acidic substances, as they can strip the natural patina. For added protection, a light coat of clear wax can be applied occasionally to maintain its timeless finish.
Aged copper continues to change over time, it’s part of its beauty. Slight variations in tone or texture are normal and add character. Avoid prolonged moisture or standing water on the surface. Keep the stool away from direct heat sources like radiators or vents, as excessive heat may cause discoloration.
