The Story Behind Shanti Design.

A Journey Rooted in Discovery
After nearly five years in finance, I stepped away from the corporate world to continue what my parents started: a company rooted in heritage, built on decades of sourcing and manufacturing high-quality furniture. I grew up surrounded by design and entrepreneurship, but it wasn’t until a formative journey to Indonesia that I truly understood the beauty and depth of what my family had built. Immersing myself in the world of materials, artisans, and the intricate process of creation, I found clarity in what I wanted to build.
I longed to create something tangible, something that brought meaning and warmth into everyday spaces. I wanted to bridge the gap between high-quality craftsmanship and accessible, beautifully designed furniture. Pieces that felt intentional, unique, and deeply connected to the people who make and own them.

Beyond Temporary Spaces, Creating a True Sense of Home
As an immigrant, navigating life between cultures, I longed for a deeper sense of home. One that felt grounded, lasting, and meaningful. Yet, apartment after apartment, I found myself surrounded by furniture that felt disposable, devoid of soul. Shanti was born to change that.
Named after the Sanskrit word for peace, Shanti is more than just furniture. It’s a reflection of identity, permanence, and craft. We blend global perspectives with artisanal methods and modern functionality to create timeless pieces that tell a story. Yours and ours.
At Shanti Design, we believe in slow, intentional design. One that respects the hands that create it and the homes it inhabits. Every piece is crafted with precision, using materials that honor the natural world and the centuries-old techniques passed down by artisans.
With access to institutional-grade manufacturing, we’re on a mission to make high-quality, intentional design accessible. We believe your space should feel like home, not a placeholder. Furniture should be made to last, to anchor life’s moments, and to carry meaning beyond trends.
We proudly collaborate with designers who value creative freedom, those who are often constrained by the limitations of mass production, and offer them the space to bring thoughtful, expressive pieces to life.
